Moth Damage

This photo shows several moth larvae that have infested a large hand-knotted wool oriental rug from the Rochester area. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save this rug; it was totally affected. Frequent visual inspection and annual cleaning can help reduce such a problem, as well as mothproofing. We also can use a non-chemical method to eliminate moth infestation.

Interesting Marble Floor in Pittsford

This is a closeup of a marble floor we recently polished. You can see a fossil contained in the marble; it's just a little bigger than a quarter in size. We thought it was pretty cool, to have a small piece of history on (in) your floor! The photo on top shows the whole floor when finished. We were able to successfully polish the marble without affecting the hardwood flooring surrounding it.
